Day 1: Arrival in Uganda

Arrive at Entebbe International Airport, where your birding guide will meet you and transfer you to your hotel in Kampala. Relax after your journey and enjoy a short safari briefing over dinner.

Begin your safari with a drive northwest to Murchison Falls National Park, Uganda’s largest and most diverse park. Bird en route and stop for lunch before visiting the top of the falls, where the Nile thunders through a narrow gorge. Look out for rock pratincoles, red-throated bee-eaters, and other species.

Begin your day with a morning birding game drive in Murchison Falls National Park, exploring the northern savannah plains and spotting species such as the Abyssinian ground hornbill, the secretary bird, and the black-headed lapwing.
After lunch, enjoy a boat cruise to the base of Murchison Falls, viewing kingfishers, African fish eagles, cormorants, and possibly the elusive shoebill.

After breakfast, drive south to Queen Elizabeth National Park, passing through tea plantations, woodlands, and crater lakes. Stop for birding along the way. Arrive in the evening and check in for dinner and rest.

Head out for a morning game drive in Queen Elizabeth National Park, focusing on birding in the Kasenyi Plains where species like the grey-crowned crane, black-headed gonolek, and long-crested eagle are commonly seen.
In the afternoon, enjoy a boat cruise on the Kazinga Channel, a hotspot for aquatic birds such as pelicans, jacanas, African skimmers, and hundreds of hippos.

Travel southwest to Lake Bunyonyi, Uganda’s most scenic lake, surrounded by hills and rich birdlife. En route, enjoy birding stops and local views. On arrival, relax and enjoy panoramic lake scenery.

Take a morning boat ride across Lake Bunyonyi, visiting islands home to weavers, herons, sunbirds, and more. In the afternoon, join a guided birding walk through lakeside villages and forested trails.

After breakfast, begin your journey back to Kampala or Entebbe, stopping at the Equator for photos and a quick lunch. If time allows, take a brief Kampala city tour before your transfer to the airport for your outbound flight.
